The successor to the Samsung PM1643 is the Samsung PM1643a SSD. The enterprise server SSD reliably processes large amounts of data and at the same time beats HDDs in many respects by a lower susceptibility with faster read and write speeds. In addition, the server SSD, which is suitable for 24/7 continuous operation, offers a high capacity of up to 30.72TB.

With the PM1643a, Samsung has a 2.5″ SAS SSD in its range that is primarily aimed at professional use in data centres. Its reliability, security and endurance make it particularly interesting for enterprise applications and high workloads.

The PM1643a replaces the PM1643, the difference between PM1643 and PM1643a is only in the NAND architecture (V-NAND v4 > V-NAND v5).
