Samsung provides with the PM863a an SSD which was designed for processing mixed workloads in data centres. Thanks to the usage of the SATA interface, existing servers can be upgraded easily with PM863a. Because of the integrated flash memory type, PM863a is the less costly alternative to Samsung’s SM863a.
