In 1991, Apple launched the PowerBook - after the comparatively heavy Macintosh Portable a truly portable Macintosh notebook. PowerBooks are, depending on the model, equipped with a Motorola 680x0 or PowerPC processor and deliver reliable performance in day-to-day business. In January 2006, the PowerBook was replaced by its successor Apple MacBook Pro, but it is still popular among its users because of its high-quality manufacturing.
