The pSeries servers run on a UNIX derivate named AIX that has been developed by IBM itself and for which it provides a number of free software. Moreover, a 64-bit Linux can be used on all modern pSeries servers. pSeries POWER7 Power Systems are flexbily scalable and allow a collaboration of up to 32 power CPUs.
